Dr. Victoria Wilkes
Macleod Trail, Walden
Victoria joins our Macleod Trail/Walden locations after completing her Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Calgary and receiving a medical degree from Ross University, with most of her clinical studies taking place in New York. She then completed three years of residency training in Wheeling, West Virginia, a town about the size of Okotoks.
She believes that patient care isn’t just about fixing physical health, but that it also entails empowering patients to take control and make their life better. Patient care is about health and wellbeing, education, disease prevention, patient advocacy, and managing care. Being the daughter of a psychiatrist, Victoria’s interest in medicine began at an early age because of her intrigue with the connection between mind and body. She decided to pursue family medicine because it allows her to help people at the various stages of their life, as well as geting to know an individual patient’s values and expectations, and then work with them to improve their quality of life.
Away from the office Victoria enjoys yoga, biking, golf, sketching and movies. She is looking forward to moving back to Alberta where she will have a chance to visit with friends and family more often as well as help her community remain a healthy one. Victoria has a special interest in women’s health, mental health and skincare.
